Specialisation
Patrick specialises in complex personal injury, medical negligence and multi-party cases. He recently won a £3.1 million award in the case of Cauthery v Kan. He was the leader of the HJA team managing Gulf War illness claims for UK veterans and the New Cross inquest. He has also managed the MMR and Sheep Dip multi-party actions and played a lead role in the King's Cross Fire and the Marchioness litigation on behalf of claimants.
Career Overview
Patrick studied at St Catherine's College, Oxford. He founded Hodge Jones & Allen in 1977 with Henry Hodge and Peter Jones after completing 2 years of articles at Offenbach & Co. He is the firm's first and only managing partner and has combined this with the position of senior partner since 1998.
Membership
Patrick is one of eleven Senior Fellows of the College of Personal Injury Lawyers (CPIL) and a member of the Law Society Personal Injury panel. Patrick joined the Executive Committee of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) in 1994. He was elected Vice President in 2000 and became President of APIL in May 2002. He was the APIL member of the Law Society Council from 2001-2005. He is a member of the Law Society Civil Litigation Committee and sits as a Deputy District Judge.
Personal
Patrick is a keen long-distance runner, windsurfer and an avid Arsenal fan (season ticket holder). He has been learning classical and jazz piano for the last 6 years.
